Mirfield Stags moved a step closer to sealing the league title with a comprehensive victory against Illingworth.
The result sees the Stags exact a degree of revenge on their opponents following defeat in the League Cup last month.
The victory takes Mirfield six points clear of Upton in second place, with a far superior points difference, though their nearest rivals have two games in hand.
Wingers Lewis Holliday, sponsored by Delta Electrical UK, and Mikey Otty, sponsored by Park House Security & Electrical, weighed in with three of the hosts’ six tries, with Holliday crossing for two and Otty adding one.
The pair are now locked on eight tries each for the season.
Hooker Casey Canterbury, sponsored by Delta Electrical UK, continued his own excellent try-scoring form with his 17th of the campaign, while Ben Kendall, sponsored by Delta Electrical UK, and Dom Flanagan, sponsored by Delta Electrical UK, also added four-pointers.
Wayne Wilson, sponsored by Tominay Stone Masonry, added two conversions as the Stags marked their return to Hillrich Park in style, following several weeks on the road.
Next up for Mirfield is a replay of December’s Yorkshire Cup Final and a trip to face Drighlington on Saturday.
